We are a group of friends which originally got together for training in the city. It was a kind of an adrenaline boosted lifestyle for us.
When did Fixed Broz start?
Fixed Broz was founded in 2012 by Gábor, Zoltan, Robert and Bence. They knew each other from their previous bmx times. I (Peter) joined them a few months later. Now we are four of us in the team, Bence’s life took a different turn.
What is Fixed Broz about?
We are a group of friends which originally got together for training in the city. It was a kind of an adrenaline boosted lifestyle for us. In 2014 we started a Facebook page just to post some of Robert’s photos about our everyday rides. We gained a lots of followers in a few months, . Since then things have been quickly changing, now we are building a brand, working on our homepage and some FixedBroz products. So the hobby riding have become a job.
How often do you ride together?
We ride twice or three times a week depending on the weather, besides that we see each other at the meetings
How is the ride in Budapest?
Budapest is a truly amazing city. Not just beautiful, but deverse. Big hills, flat areas, the Danube, the Margaret Island, anytime you get what you want. The roads are pretty good compared to other cities and there are quite lots of new bike paths. You don’t have to fight with the drivers or the police. There are some stupid people on the roads, but where aren’t they? :)
...and accidents?
Robert had a huge fall with his bmx but that was a long time ago. Since then luckily nothing serious happened. A fall from a trackstand is the biggest accident we had (which can be very funny). But we see some big crash in the city almost every week. So take care, and wear a helmet guys!
What's the best bike hang out place?
The best hang out place is the Deák Square. There you can lie on the grass, drink some beer, and enjoy the mood of the city and the people.
Do you race?
We are not a racing team. Gabor has a competitor vein only. He won some local trackstand, skid and footdown races. Important to note, that we are planning to organize more races in Budapest for fixie riders. Now we are looking for the opportunities, but we are sure that these will be different kind of races than the ordinary ones. Our first Strava based race was exciting, we will continue that as well.
